A New Way to Pay Tolls in Virginia with Your Smartphone

Long gone are the days of digging around the bottom of your cup holder for change or adding time to your commute to avoid toll roads.

Globalvia’s new free mobile phone app, Slora, allows you to pay tolls in real-time without needing a pre-funded pass or worrying about hard currency on toll roads throughout Virginia.

Here’s how Slora works: After you download the app, sign up for an account, and enter your license plate and credit card information, you can simply drive through an E-ZPass Express Lane and the app will pay the toll on your behalf. It’s that simple! No paperwork or confusing terms and conditions.

Slora allows you to easily track your spending and add multiple vehicles to a single account. Unlike similar apps, Slora also allows you to quickly add rental cars to your account whether you’re busy traveling or happen to manage a commercial fleet.

“We are thrilled to offer this exciting new app to anyone traveling throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Antonio Moreno, Pocahontas Parkway’s Operations Director. “Whether you are driving your own vehicle or a rental car, Slora is a great solution to help drivers get where they need to go while completely bypassing cash toll lanes. It will help take the stop-and-go out of your trip, and registration only takes a minute.”

Slora is accepted on nearly every major toll road in Virginia, including I-64, I-66, I-95, I-395, and I-495, as well as the Pocahontas Parkway, Powhite Parkway Extension, Dulles Toll Road, Chesapeake Expressway, Dominion Boulevard, South Norfolk Jordan Bridge, Coleman Bridge, and Elizabeth River Tunnels (Midtown and Downtown). Please visit slorapp.com/USA for a complete list of supported Virginia highways. Globalvia has plans to include support for more major toll roads throughout Virginia.

“We continue to work towards smart infrastructure, making commutes, family road trips, and driving around Virginia that much easier for everyone,” Moreno said.
